Jim Henson's Labyrinth - In Concert

Jim Henson's Labyrinth - In Concert at Ruth Eckerd Hall

Why see Jim Henson's Labyrinth - In Concert?

You Remind me of the Babe

There was a time when we all wished to be stolen by a goblin king wearing impossibly tight trousers, and this year that opportunity has finally come!

David Bowie will appear once more on the big screen as Jareth The Goblin King, backed by a dazzling band playing the score live to the screen as he serenades you about the babe with the power and magic dances, accompanied by a host of Jim Henson's Creature Shop puppets. Don't forget to practice juggling those iconic crystal balls, you don't want to let the Goblin King down as Labyrinth in Concert comes to a city near you!

What Babe? The story of Labyrinth

Premiering in 1986, Labyrinth was Jim Henson's second foray into non-Muppet movies after Dark Crystal. Using the skills honed from years of Muppetry alongside state-of-the-art (for the time) animatronics, Henson created a suitably twisted fantasy world, ruled over by the one and only David Bowie as the sardonic Goblin King who steals away the baby brother of 14-year-old Sarah, played by Jennifer Connely in her Hollywood debut. Alongside stunning set pieces and an eminently quotable soundtrack, Sarah's search for her brother becomes a herculean effort as she delves into the heart of the Labyrinth, dodging enemies and making strange new friends as she fights to reach its center. The original critical response was less than exciting, but over time it's matured into a must-see cult classic. Fittingly, this brand new tour launches on September 24th - the late Jim Henson's birthday.
