Great Hauser

He's not only a musician but a great entertainer. He plays with passion and displays the versatility of the cello with ease. With his musical selections he wants to bring young people to enjoy the cello and yet keep his classical followers with him. We should be glad he wants to keep music a part of everyone's life.

Refreshing

Overall great and entertaining …trying to breach the gap between classical music and more popular hits with the cello being the lead of the orchestra! Good humor and fun…a little campy at times but kept us entertained !

Gorgeous, but description needed.

Hauser’s concert opened into a hauntingly gorgeous, romantic classical. Much of the concert, however, hinges on Latino covers. As a Latina, I found it engaging— but something that I would have loved to have disclosed in a thematic description to inform my expectations for the performance. Still! Hauser is one hell of a showman and I appreciated his attentiveness to the other talent surrounding him. It was a thoughtful performance that I would go see again.

Not what I expected!

Purchased the ticket to see Hauser 5 months ago. So was looking forward with great anticipation to an evening of classical music on 6 June at Carnegie Hall. Instead I got an hybrid which consisted mainly of latin pop music. Was disappointed! The few classical pieces Hauser played were hauntingly beautifully as usual. Hope he does a purely classical performance in NYC in the near future. I would definitely be there!

Disappointed

We bought our tickets 7 months ago and spent 340.00 total. Seats weren’t the best but not that bad either. His performance started off lovely with his musical gift as a cellist For about 20 minutes. Concert total was 90.00, then I felt I was in a Miami sound machine era with his band that came out. They were very good musicians but I had no idea it was going to be like that. Should have done my homework. But about one third of the concert Hauser decided to be funny and stood infront of the drummer was flicking his nose which was very immature and not professional. I thought was he on something? But at the end he picked his nose again twice and wiped it on his shirt. Professional musicians aren’t supposed to act like this but I think he thought he was entertaining. So disappointed .

So I am a classical musician and had bought these tickets with my husband seven months ago and spent 340.00 for two tickets. Our seats were off from the side lower level and sat back a good few rows but still pretty good viewing. Hausers performance started off beautiful that brought tears to my eyes and this lasted probably only 20 minutes long. Then his professional manner changed and made this concert into a Miami sound machine delivery. This band was amazing which I had no ideas a band was even going to play. He had a wonderful female violinist but again I thought it was going to be just him performing. I obviously didn’t do my homework. This is a 90 minute concert and about one third in I could have sworn he started to pick his nose near the drummer and flicking it! The drummer smiled but looked embarrassed for Hauser. I thought is he on something? No Grace or being a gentleman at this point. I was In shock. I like a good joke as the next guy but I couldn’t believe what I saw. At the end he did it again except he wiped it on his shirt twice and was laughing. If I had known this is what was in store I would have never gone. He is remarkable so I don’t know why he would bring himself to this level of immaturity.
